Service with a smile!! & HSM on Ice!

Today I have been baking and pre-making things to take to a sister in our ward (84 yrs old), who just recently found out she has breast cancer. She had a lumpectomy on Tues, and we are taking meals in through today. I am taking a homemade lasagne, caesar salad, garlic pull aparts, and lemon squares. YUMMY!! I will take that over later today for their dinner. I used to be her VT, now I am her friend forever.

Also, tonight we have tickets to see High School Musical on Ice, here in Wenatchee. At our new big arena. The girls, especially Jolyn, are excited to go!! :-)

Soon, we will also have to go the theatre and see HSM 3, senior year, too!

The other night at Achievement days when we carved pumpkins, it went really well! I have 3 girls, and they all showed up with their dads and carved away. It was fun!! I gave them each a certificate with an award, and a giant hershey bar, and a sheet of Halloween stickers. I think they had fun. We had roasted pumpkin seeds, spice cake with Cinnamon frosting, and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies to eat,and some fruit punch to drink. They all liked it! At least, that is what I tell myself.

Let's see, not much else to report. Hope everyone is well wherever you are!! :-)

Another Sick Day!! :-(

Jalani is home sick again this morning. She gets this cough that is really annoying to everyone around her. I am not sure what is causing it. She got it about a month ago and missed a couple of days of school because of it.
Anyhow, on the bright side, the sun is out again and shining so life is good!!! Right??

Let's see, we carved some of the pumpkins last night. Tonight is our activity days with a daddy/daughter pumpkin carving, so that should be fun. It is here at our house, as I am one of the leaders. :-)
Jeff & Jalani are going to make this pumpkin:

Cute, right?? I think so!! It should be fun!! I will have some kind of dessert to eat, and drink. Maybe a contest, so everyone gets a prize!!
Giant candy bars!!??
Anyhow, let's see.......what else is new and exciting!!

My grandpa turned 89 this past Sunday...... This is the only picture of him I have downloaded on my computer....lol. Guess I need a new one!! ;-)

How grateful I am for such a wonderful grandpa, he brings such happiness and joy to all around him. He is always cracking jokes, and making people smile and laugh.
I love you Bestefar!!!

mmmmmmmmm.........The girls have finally finished soccer for the season!! WOOHOO!!
I am thankful that is finished!! It was a long season. They both won their final games, so that was nice. Their teams each had a party, thankful on different days. :-)
I have been reading alot lately, and posting that on www.goodreads.com It is fun.
I have a facebook account if you can imagine such a thing. scary thought, isn't it??!

Nothing more exciting to write about, so I guess that is it for now!!

Which sport car are you?

I took this short quiz, it was cute! Try it!!!

I'm a Mazda RX-8!

You're sporty, yet practical, and you have a style of your own. You like to have fun, and you like to bring friends along for the ride, but when it comes time for everyday chores, you're willing to do your part.

Take the Which Sports Car Are You? quiz.

General conference Oct. 2008

What a great weekend. Completely uplifting, and inspiring.
I was able to watch all 4 sessions, and it was awesome.
A TV station (KWCC) here in Wenatchee, broadcasted it, so we were able to watch at home. How wonderful of a blessing is that?? It was great!! Sunday afternoon, we did go to the stake center to watch the last session, as that is something we have done through the years. It tells our children, that keeping the sabbath is important even on conference days.

It was a wonderful weekend!! This week is another busy one. This coming weekend is our stake temple day on Friday Oct. 10th. They encourage everyone to take the day off work and be at the temple all day. Jeff & I are going up Thurs. night, spending the night, and doing the temple on Friday for half day, then back to Wenatchee for a Love & Logic Parenting seminar. It will be busy. We have the seminar all day Sat. as well, but it will only be attended partially as we have soccer on Sat.

I will be glad when the end of Oct is here, which will bring the end of soccer season.
Whew!!
It has been extra busy with both girls playing soccer this fall.
But they have enjoyed it. Even Jolyn!1 :-)
I guess that is all for now!! TTFN

Walk along the canal

Now, on to today. I decided last night, since I didn't have to much going on today, that I would take Chewy on a long needed walk. We have a canal that runs through alot of Wenatchee. (No, not the Columbia river.)
It was overcast, but the perfect temperature. We walked for an hour and 15 minutes. It was awesome! Chewy was off leash for a part of the time, and during that time, he had stopped to check out something, I started running, he ran after me and splash into the canal he jumped. I had been trying to keep him out of there, but you know how Labradors are...... can't stay out of the water!! :-)
Anyhow, it was great to get some exercise for the two of us.
The rest of today will be cleaning and ironing.......BORING!!!
Anyone have any better ideas??????

Tomorrow is the start of General Conference. I am so excited for that. To hear from our prophet, Thomas S. Monson. It will be broadcast on a local TV station again, so that is exciting. We have soccer to compete with it though. Unfortunately. Lani's game starts the exact same time as conference, so Jeff & Lani will go to the game, and Jolyn & I will watch the first session. Then at 3:00 Jolyn has a game, which is when the 2nd session is over, but we will have to leave before it is over to get her to her game on time. We only have a few more weeks of soccer and then we are done for the season.
Both girls will be participating, with their teams,in a tournament on the weekend of Oct. 11th. It will be their first time in a tournament, we shall see how they like it. www.wenatcheefirefc.org That is the link to tell you about the Apple Cup Tournament, if you are interested.
Anyhow, that is all that is new for now.
